UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI/UNIVERSITY OF HELSINKI IN FINLAND PHD AND MASTERS FELLOWSHIP 2021/2022 FOR AFRICANS

The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, University of Nairobi is calling for applications for PhD and Masters fellowships under the Earth Observation and Environmental Sensing for Climate-smart Sustainable Agropastoral Ecosystem Transformation in East Africa (ESSA) Programme to be undertaken in partnership  with the Department of Geosciences and Geography, University of Helsinki in Finland. The programme will offer a PhD fellowship tenable  at University of Helsinki and a Masters fellowship at University of Nairobi.

VIRTUAL 63rd GRADUATION CEREMONY OF UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI

The Chancellor, University of Nairobi, Dr. (Mrs.) Vijoo Rattansi, OGW, D. Ltt. (Hon), (Nairobi), D. Ltt. (Hon), Moi, shall preside over the 63rd Congregation of the University of Nairobi for the conferment of degrees and award of diplomas virtually on Friday, September 25, 2020  from the Great Court at 8.00 a.m.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and guidelines from the Ministry of Health, the ceremony shall be held virtually.

INFORMATION FOR PHD GRADUANDS FOR 63RD GRADUATION CEREMONY

In preparation for the virtual University of Nairobi 63rd Graduation Ceremony scheduled for September 25th, 2020, photos of the PhD graduands will be taken from September 8th-10th, 2020 from 9.00am to 3.00pm. The setup will be done in Taifa Hall.

For this purpose, the graduands should be adorned in full graduation regalia.

TRAINING TOWARDS ONLINE CLASSES 2020

There will be a two weeks training on online classes. The following is the approved schedule:


Monday 7th - Friday 18th September,2020
Sensitization/Training on Online Learning
All students are required to attend the mandatory sensitization/training sessions.

Research Week 2020 ...

is the 3rd Annual event hosted by the University of Nairobi in October each year. The week features over ten different conferences covering a diverse range of academic disciplines, one of which is bound to meet your interest and area of expertise. 

The conferences provide a forum to enable you to present your work, engage with your colleagues, and learn about the latest developments in your field. 

APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 18TH SEP 2020 - UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI SCHOLARSHIP 2020/2021

University of Nairobi is offering 137 masters scholarships for the 2020/2021 academic year. The applications are open only to applicants for the September 2020 intake.

General guidelines to applicants

Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria among other specific criteria by their respective units.

VC WELCOMES OVER 10,000 POSTGRADUATE AND UNDERGRADUATE FIRST YEAR STUDENTS

The University of Nairobi welcomed over 10,000 new students, both postgraduate and undergraduate, for the Academic Year 2020/21.

The new students have been admitted to the six UoN Colleges and the ODeL Campus. This admission process is an important milestone in the history of the University of Nairobi as it is the first time that the institution has conducted end to end academic processes using online platforms.

UON 2020/2021 SCHOLARSHIP

The Graduate School Board together with Deans/Directors of Faculties/Schools/Institutes/Centres will be having a virtual meeting on Friday September 4th, to discuss the allocation of University of Nairobi 2020/2021 scholarships. The University will be offering 137 masters scholarships for the 2020/2021 academic year. The applications were open only to applicants for the September 2020 intake.

GRADUATE ORIENTATION

Graduate orientation will be held virtually on 1st September, 2020 from 2.00PM. Remarks shall be given by the Director, Library Services, the Dean of Students, Director ICTC, Chief Medical Officer, Deputy Directors-Graduate School, Director-Graduate School, the Vice Chancellor and DVC AA.

The Director-Graduate School, Prof. Lydia W. Njenga, will give her address at 2.30PM.
