64TH VIRTUAL GRADUATION CEREMONY: 66 GRADUANDS TO BE AWARDED PHD

66 PhD graduands are set to graduate during the virtual 64th University of Nairobi Graduation Ceremony to be held on Friday 11th, December 2020. The Graduate School wished to congratulate all the PhD graduands for the great achievement.

UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI/UNIVERSITY OF HELSINKI IN FINLAND PHD AND MASTERS FELLOWSHIP 2021/2022 FOR AFRICANS

The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, University of Nairobi is calling for applications for PhD and Masters fellowships under the Earth Observation and Environmental Sensing for Climate-smart Sustainable Agropastoral Ecosystem Transformation in East Africa (ESSA) Programme to be undertaken in partnership  with the Department of Geosciences and Geography, University of Helsinki in Finland. The programme will offer a PhD fellowship tenable  at University of Helsinki and a Masters fellowship at University of Nairobi.

INFORMATION FOR PHD GRADUANDS FOR 63RD GRADUATION CEREMONY

In preparation for the virtual University of Nairobi 63rd Graduation Ceremony scheduled for September 25th, 2020, photos of the PhD graduands will be taken from September 8th-10th, 2020 from 9.00am to 3.00pm. The setup will be done in Taifa Hall.

For this purpose, the graduands should be adorned in full graduation regalia.

SCHOOL OF LAW STUDENT SUCCESSFULLY PRESENTS PhD DEFENSE VIRTUALLY

School of Law doctoral student Muthomi Thiankolu was never going to let the coronavirus pandemic stop him from completing his PhD.  On July 21, 2020, he successfully presented his defense to the Board of Examiners panel chaired by School of Law Dean, Prof. Kiarie Mwaura.

Thiankolu, an advocate of the High Court of Kenya is also a lecturer at the school of law with specific research interests in dispute resolution; public procurement regulation; constitutional and administrative law; and international economic law.
