UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI RANKED POSITION 1 IN KENYA ONCE AGAIN

University of Nairobi once again takes the lead in Kenya according to the January 2021 Webometrics ranking. In Africa, University of Nairobi clinched position 13 with the top 12 positions being taken up by South African and Egyptian universities.

UoN was at Position 1 in East Africa and 1052 in a total of over 30,000 universities ranked globally.

Webometrics ranks universities based on Impact, Openness and Excellence parameters in its ranking. UoN ranked 1181 in Impact, 615 in Openness and 1625 in Excellence parameters.

GRADUATE SCHOOL AMONG TOP 3 IN CENTRAL DEPARTMENTS

The University’s Performance Contract award ceremony was held today at Taifa Hall. Graduate School clinched position 3 among in the Central Administration category. Internal Audit was position 1 while Open, Distance and E-Learning was in second position.

Centre for Advanced Studies in Environmental Law and Policy (CASELAP) has been crowned overall winner in the Performance Contract 2019/2020. Meru regional Learning Centre followed closely and Department of Educational Programmes clinched position 3.

10PHD SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The University of Nairobi, Washington State University, and the International Livestock Research Institute recently received a grant from the United States Aid for International Development (USAID) under the Feed the Future Animal Health Innovation Lab. The Animal Health Innovation Lab will be based at the Department of Clinical Studies, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, University of Nairobi. The Grant has a provision for ten (10) Ph.D.

COLLECTION OF CERTIFICATES FOR DECEMBER 11, 2020 GRADUATES

All Graduates of the 64th Congregation for the conferment of Degrees and award of Diplomas held on December 11, 2020 are requested to collect their certificates from the University of Nairobi Central Examinations Centre, Chiromo Campus starting from Monday January 25, 2021 to Friday March 10, 2021 in the following order:

VIRTUAL TRAINING FOR CHAIRMEN OF DEPARTMENTS AND ADMINISTRATORS ON GRADUATE PROCESSES IN THE SUCCESS OF GRADUATE PROGRAMMES

The Graduate School yesterday held a virtual  training for chairmen of departments and administrators on graduate processes in the success of graduate programmes.

'As head of that unit you are the custodian of quality of the students thesis,' said Prof. Ogeng'o (DVC AA) to the Chairs of departments and administrators in his opening remarks. He also told them that they need to be conversant with the procedures of the Graduate School for them to be able to guide students.
